Crime at a Glance: Number of Incidents Down 33 Percent This Week

The number of felony assaults and grand larceny incidents fell this past week.

Crime fell a whopping 33 percent this past week in the 112th Precinct with drops in two of the seven major crime categories, according to police statistics.

There were no murders, rapes or felony assaults during the past week. During the same week in 2012, the precinct reported three assaults.

And grand larceny was down from 10 incidents during the same week in 2012 to six incidents this past week.

The precinct reported three burglaries and one grand larceny auto incident, which were the exact same number of incidents in both categories during the same week last year.

Robbery was the only crime category to see a slight increase. Only one incident was reported last year at this time, while two robberies were reported this past week.

Overall crime is down seven percent for the year.
