Central Queens Y to Host Summer Drama Workshops

Participants will be able to take part in public performance in the fall.

The Central Queens Y will host two drama workshops this summer that will culminate in a public performance this fall.

The workshops will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on July 18 and Aug. 15 at the Y, which is located at 67-09 108th St. in Forest Hills.

Both workshops will be taught by Scott Klavan, who has performed on Broadway in “Irena’s Vow” as well as wrote and performed in “The Double Murder Plays” and acted in PBS’s “Mechanic to Millionaire: The Peter Cooper Story.”

The Y’s program is aimed at everyone from novices to actors with some experience. It will cost $8 for members and $10 for nonmembers.

Students in the workshops will take part in a public performance at a yet to be decided date in the fall.
