Veterans Day Mini Camp, CB 6 Meeting Highlight Week Ahead in Forest Hills

Also, QCC's performing arts center is holding two concerts and Kaplan Test Prep is offering free SAT and ACT practice tests.

Monday

The Central Queens Y, located at 67-09 108th St. in Forest Hills, will host a Veterans Day trip for local schoolchildren to Elmsford’s Sportime USA, where they will be able to take part in a variety of activities, including laser tag, arcade games and rock climbing.


The Y’s mini-camp, which is aimed at children in kindergarten through sixth grade, will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wednesday

Community Board 6 will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. in suite 202 of the Kew Gardens Community Center, located at 80-02 Kew Gardens Road. The board will discuss the USTA's tennis center project as well as a citywide green infrastructure and bioswales initiative.

Saturday

Kaplan Test Prep is holding free SAT and ACT practice tests at 9 a.m. at Queens College's Student Union Building.

Boy bands All-4-One and Color Me Badd will perform at 8 p.m. at Queensborough Community College's Performing Arts Center, located at 222-05 56th Ave. in Bayside.

Sunday

Forest Hills-based family services agency Forestdale will participate in a five-mile run/walk that will take place in Riverside Park at 9 a.m. Click here for more information.

Trylon Vet Care will hold an animal rescue and donation day from 10 a.m. to noon and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 68-60 Austin St. in Forest Hills. 

The Hungarian State Folk Ensemble will play QCC's performing arts center, located at 222-05 56th Ave. in Bayside, at 3 p.m.
