The Queens Chamber of Commerce and Verizon will hold a talk on how to amplify your business through mobile technology. The event will take place at 8 p.m. at the Bulova Center, located at 75-20 Astoria Blvd. in Jackson Heights.
The Forest Hills Library, located at 108-19 71st Ave., will hold a workshop at 11 a.m. that will explain the Affordable Care Act and what the new health care laws mean for Queens residents. And, at 2:30 p.m., the library will host a performance that combines swing, ragtime and contemporary jazz and includes music by Oscar Peterson, Erroll Garner, Duke Ellington, Billy Taylor and Fats Waller.Sunday
There will be a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in memory of Ludmila Herz at 66-05 108th St. in Forest Hills. All participants will be entered to win a pair of Super Bowl tickets. Donors must be at least 16 years of age.
The Queens Botanical Garden, located at 43-50 Main St. in Flushing, will hold its winter solstice and tree lighting at 12:30 p.m. The event will include a winter garden tour, crafts and live music.
