Composting Project, Meng's Iran Forum Mark Week Ahead in Forest Hills

Monday

The Forest Hills Library, located at 108-19 71st Ave., will offer a ballroom dancing class at 6:30 p.m. The class, which is taught by instructor Jing Chen, will teach basic steps to beginners and further training for advanced dancers.

U.S. Rep. Grace Meng, D-Flushing, will hold a forum on Iran's nuclear program at 6:30 p.m. at the Forest Hills Jewish Center, located at 106-06 Queens Blvd. The event is open to the public and free of charge, but RSVP is required. To hold a spot, email mengrsvp@mail.house.gov or call 718-445-7861. Refreshments will be served.

Wednesday

The Queens Botanical Garden will host a composting project at the Queens County Farm Museum from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be a $5 fee per person. Attendees will learn how to compost using kitchen scraps, weeds and garden trimmings. Registration is required. To sign up, call 718-539-5296.

Saturday

A coalition of the Arthritis and the National Psoriasis foundations will hold an event at Queens College at 9:30 a.m. Dermatologist Russell Cohen and rheumatologist Andrew J. Porges will discuss how those who suffer from psoriatic arthritis can take control of their health.

Sunday

The Queens Botanical Garden will set up a children's activity table that is sponsored by TD Bank at 2 p.m. The garden is located at 43-50 Main St. in Flushing.
