Chamber Music, Trip to YIVO Highlight Week Ahead in Forest Hills

Tuesday

The Forest Hills Library, located at 108-19 71st Ave., will hold a book discussion on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby” at 3 p.m.

Wednesday

The Central Queens Y, located at 67-09 108th St., is hosting a singles event for persons 45 years and above at 7 p.m. The event is free for Y members and $5 for nonmembers. To register, call 718-268-5011, ext. 160.

Thursday

The Central Queens Y, located at 67-09 108th St., will lead a visit to YIVO to visit Yiddish books, newspapers and publications, including one from the Vilna Ghetto, that were saved from Europe. The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., will also include lunch in Chelsea. For more information, call 718-268-5011, ext. 151. 

Saturday

The PUBLIQuartet will perform chamber music classics with a modern spin at 50 Ascan Ave. at 7:30 p.m. The concert is $22 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for students.

Queensborough Community Colleges performing arts center, located at 222-05 56th Ave. in Bayside, will hold Blue Suede Birthday at 8 p.m. The event will include performances by two renowned Elvis Presley impersonators, one of whom will sing tunes from the king’s early career and another who will tackle his later years, jumpsuits and all.
