Tropical Storm Karen Could Soak Queens

Wet weather in store for early next week.

Queens residents could see a soggy start to next week as the remnants from Tropical Storm Karen barrel up the East Coast.

According to a Weather.com report, once Karen makes landfall in the Gulf Coast the moisture could be forced east by a cold front guiding Winter Storm Atlas to the west, soaking the area.

Karen on Friday was strengthening in the Gulf of Mexico and experts think the storm could make landfall on Saturday anywhere between the Louisiana Coast and the Florida panhandle.

Experts said the storm could briefly reach Category 1 hurricane strength but would likely make landfall as a tropical storm and continue to weaken as it moves northeast.
