Willow Lake Trail To Be Named For Pat Dolan

Civic activist was killed in 2011.

Pat Dolan, a tireless Queens civic activist tragically killed in a car accident in 2011, will be honored at Willow Lake Park Sunday.

Local leaders and park officials will commemorate Dolan at 11 a.m. on Sunday, dedicating the Willow Lake Trail in her memory.

Dolan, who was heavily involved in many civic programs throughout the borough, was also the founder of the Flushing Meadows Corona Park Conservancy. On multiple occasions, she led tours through Willow Lake itself, and advocated for shoreline and wildlife improvements.

The event will take place at the Mauro Playground at 73rd Terrace and Park Drive East, at 11 a.m. on April 21.
