112th Precinct Community Council to Host Sept. 13 Blood Drive

Event will run from noon to 6 p.m. on Austin Street.

The 112th Precinct Community Council will hold a blood drive on Sept. 13 along Austin Street.

The drive will run from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday at 68-40 Austin St.

The council is hosting the drive following a recent announcement from the New York Blood Center that blood supplies – including B-negative and A-negative - had fallen to a critical level.

“When patients need blood, they need blood and our hospitals have requested more than our community has been able to supply over Labor Day and last week’s holidays,” said Rob Purvis, vice president of the blood center.
