Transit Roundup: Changes to M, E Lines, Extra LIRR Trains

Find information on the MTA's subway lines, LIRR stops for the holiday weekend.

There will be changes this weekend to two subway lines serving Forest Hills and the Long Island Rail Road will be adding extra trains for Labor Day.

The M train will only operate this weekend between Metropolitan Avenue in Middle Village and Myrtle Avenue.

And the Jamaica-Center bound E trains will run via the F line from 2nd Avenue to 21st Street-Queensbridge. There will be no F trains between West 4th Street and the World Trade Center.

The LIRR will provide additional early-afternoon service from Penn Station today for customers getting an early start on the Labor Day weekend.

The railroad will operate on a weekend schedule on Saturday and Sunday and a Sunday/holiday schedule on Labor Day.

Extra train service from Penn Station today will include a 2:29 p.m. train that will stop at Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Jamaica, New Hyde Park and all stops to Huntington.
