MTA Cancels Fastrack Work on Queens Boulevard Line Amid Snowstorm

Work would have affected M, R, E and F lines.

The city’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority has cancelled planned Fastrack work for the remainder of the week that would have affected the R, E, M and F lines amid a snowstorm expected to blanket the five boroughs on Tuesday.

The MTA had originally planned to perform maintenance work along the Queens Boulevard line that would have suspended E service between Roosevelt Avenue and the World Trade Center stops and F service between Roosevelt and 21st St.-Queensbridge.

Additionally, M service between 71st Avenue and Essex Street at night and R service between 71st and Whitehall Street would have been suspended at night.

But the agency has now suspended all Fastrack work along those lines for the week to free up MTA personnel for snow cleanup.

It was unclear when Fastrack work on those lines would resume, but the MTA announced that it would next begin overnight closures to allow for work on the project on the 2, 3 and 4 lines on Jan. 27.
