Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for NYC

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 11 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a servere thunderstorm watch for all of New York City in effect until 11 p.m. Monday night. 

The warning also covers parts of Long Island, New Jersey, upstate New York and Connecticut.

The weather service noted that storms could produce hail up to two inches in diameter, thunderstorm wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour and dangerous lightning. Flooding is also possible.
