Pic of the Day: Cricket in Queens

Do you play?

A dozen borough-wide cricket teams across the city — comprised mainly of teenage immigrants — play a game that's hugely popular on the international stage. For years, the sport has been gaining traction among youth in Queens.

At fields in nearby Kissena Park, more than 200 youth play a game that holds a great deal of meaning for the borough's huge Indian, Pakistani and Carribean populations.

The teams are sponsored by the New York City Police Department's Community Affairs Bureau.
