NYC Flash Flood Warning Issued

National Weather Service says flooding urges residents not to drive and "move to higher ground immediately."

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn and Nassau County until 6:30 p.m.

They urge residents not to drive onto flooded roadways.

"Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually deeper than they appear," the warning reads, adding that drivers encountering flooded roads should "make the smart choice...turn around...don't drown."
