Hamptons Agenda: Rock the Dock, The Wallflowers, Kevin Jonas

Also happening this weekend, Soldier Ride the Hamptons 2012 will take place in Sag Harbor and Amagansett, former New York Mets pitcher John Franco hits the Hamptons for a good cause, and the Quogue Wildlife Refuge hosts its sixth annual gala.

Parties will be steaming up the East End from Montauk to Quogue, Wounded arrios will be riding in Amagansett and Sag Harbor, and a new group of authors hit the Hamptons this weekend to talk about their books.

Montauk

PARTY: will be hosted by and held at Navy Beach in Montauk, on Saturday from 3 p.m. until sunset. This French-themed party will have music provided by DJ Sammy and local reggae musician Winstion Irie. French-themed cocktails will be served and Calypso St. Barth will be on hand with a pop-up shop of beachwear and accessories. A 1950s-style swimsuit contest will be held and the winner will get dinner for two at Navy Beach that features a chef's tasting menu and a bottle of champagne.  Lunch and dinner menus will be offered during the party and reservations can be made by calling 631-668-6868. Reservations can be made for select waterfront daybeds for a $300 minimum for time slots of 12 to 4 p.m., or 4 to 8 p.m.

Amagansett

SOLDIER RIDE & 5K EVENT: is in honor of Lance Corporal Jordan C. Haerter and part of the Wounded Warrior Project.  You can ride 30 or 60 miles on bike, or participate by walking, jogging, or running in one of two 5Ks that will be happening in Amagansett and Sag Harbor.  A picnic will be held at Ocean View Farm on Saturday in Amagansett from 12 to 4 p.m. for all registrants. Registration is $25 for the Amagansett or Sag Harbor walk; $25 to cycle for those 21 and under; and $50 for cyclists 22 and older. The Amagansett 5K walk begins at 551 Montauk Highway with registration at 7 a.m., and the walk kicking-off at 9 a.m.  For more information email JoAnn@injordanshonor.com.

MUSIC: will wrap-up Soldier Ride the Hamptons 2012's day of events at Ocean View Farm in Amagansett on Saturday at 6 p.m.  Music will be provided by Steel Pulse.  Tickets are $125 and can be purchased by calling  1-800-594-TIXX (8499).

CHARITY POKER TOURNAMENT:  The American Legion Post 419 in Amagansett will host the inaugural , to benefit Fighting Chance, a free cancer counseling center located in Sag Harbor.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the Texas Hold 'Em tournament begins at 8 p.m. The cost of $300 per person includes a light dinner, open bar, a presentation by Fighting Chance, and the poker tournament. Guaranteed prizes will be given to top finishers. For more information about registration call 631-725-4646.

East Hampton

AUTHOR TALK: of Brandeis University will speak during Shabbat services at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons on Saturday at 10 a.m. in East Hampton. Lawrence is author of "Punishing Hate: Bias Crimes Under American Law," and is one of the nations's experts on civil rights, free expression, and bias crimes.  For more information call 631-324-9858.

BENEFIT: is a fundraiser with proceeds to benefit The Max Cure Foundation, an organization that raises funds to help fight pediatric cancer, and Fundacion Amistad.  Former New York Mets pitcher John Franco and his wife, Rose, along with Chris Wragge WCBS-TV News at 6 anchor are honorary chairs of the evening.  This family-friendly evening will include performances from the Big Apple Circus, a BBQ dinner and cocktails with fireworks provided by The Clamshell Foundation. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and tickets for adults 30 & under begin at $125; Kids 13 & under $50.

FIREWORKS: The Clamshell Foundation is hosting their 32nd Annual with fireworks by Grucci over Three Mile Harbor in East Hampton at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Saturday night.  A viewing party will be held at Harbor Bistro and Andra, but other viewing locations include spots such as Maidstone Park and Sammy's Beach.

THEATER: The John Drew Theater at Guild Hall presents a staged reading of the romantic comedy by Matt Hoverman on Friday at 8 p.m. The evening's show stars John Ratzenberger ("Cheers"), Jean Smart ("Designing Women", "24"), Richard Benjamin and Aya Cash. Tickets are $30 and $28, and can be purchased by calling 631-324-0806.

FILM: The John Drew Theater at Guild Hall presents, in partnership with the Hamptons International Film Festival, its second film of the hosted by Alec Baldwin on Saturday at 8 p.m.  "Detropia" is a documentary made by filmmakers Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady that takes a look at the city of Detroit and its fall from grace.  A talkback will follow the screening with Baldwin and directors Ewing and Grady. Tickets are $22 and $20, and can be purchased by calling 631-324-0806.

Wainscott

GALA: St.Barth The Hamptons will host its presented by Social Life Magazine and Rand Luxury at East Hampton Studios in Wainscott on Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m.  The evening will celebrate the Social Life Magazine cover featuring Kevin Jonas from the Jonas Brothers and Danielle Jonas, as well as VH1's Save the Music Foundation.  The gala will host a four-hour open bar, fashion show, and live performing artists.  Entertainers Jared Evan, Every Empire, and Celebrity DJ John Hamilton are set to perform. A portion of the night's proceeds will benefit VH1's Save the Music Foundation.  Tickets are $100 and can be purchased by calling 212-725-1860.

Sagaponack

WINE & MUSIC: Wolffer Estate Vineyard is hosting throughout the summer at the Wine Stand on Montauk Highway from 5 p.m. until sunset every Friday and from 5:30 p.m. till sunset every Saturday.  Live music will be playing until the sun sets, while wine is served by the bottle and the glass with cheese and charcuterie plates available for purchase. Bridgehampton

OUTDOOR MOVIE: "Bringing Up Baby" will be shown outdoors at Silas Marder  Gallery in Bridgehampton on Friday at 9 p.m. The film showing is part of a series happening throughout the summer called , presented in partnership with the Hamptons International Film Festival. All films are free and you may bring beach chairs, blankets, and a picnic.

FAMILY: The Children Museum of the East End will put on its fourth annual on Saturday, and this year's theme is "CMEE in the Great Outdoors," with an array of nature-themed arts and crafts, water slides, entertainment, games, music and food. Honorary chairs Naomi Watts, Liev Schreiber, Mariska Hargitay, Peter Hermann, Alexandra Wentworth, George Stephanopoulos and Mark Feuerstein will join the fun. Entertainment includes 8-year-old DJ Fulano, a rock climbing wall, a scavenger hunt, waterslides, lagoon boat races, an archeological dig, birdhouse painting, tent pitching lessons, and a "touch tank" courtesy of the The Long Island Science Center. The fair takes place Saturday from 10:30 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. at in Bridgehampton. Tickets for children are $100 in advance, and $125 at the door. Sag Harbor

THEATRE:  Bay Street Theatre continues its revival of Directed by Harris Yulin and written by Joe Pintauro, the play is based on the book by Peter Matthiessen. The story tells of struggling fishermen on the East End who were forced to launch war against the government and the effects of the economic changes in the Hamptons. It tells the tale of families trying to maintain their way of life and survive in ever changing times. This play was the inaugural production at Bay Street Theatre in 1992, and 20 years later, local fishermen are still fighting for their survival. Tickets are $55 and $66. Weekend performances run Friday and Saturday at 4 and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 7 p.m.

BENEFIT: , Bay Street Theatre's biggest benefit of the year will be held on Saturday from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Long Wharf in Sag Harbor.  The evening's gala benefit's the theater's summer Mainstage productions, education programs, internships, and classes for kids.  According to Murphy Davis, the artistic director, the evening's fundraiser is the biggest party of the summer.  Single tickets are available as well as tables for 10.  This year's event will includ a special performance by Tony Award Winner Lillias White, who will be starring as Maybelle Smith in the theater’s upcoming world premiere of "Big Maybelle: Soul of the Blues."  Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served. A live "Fantasy" auction will include giveaways such as a week-long trip to St. Barts and a "meet and greet" with NBC's Kathie Lee and Hoda of the Today Show. Bay Street will also be raffling off a chance to win a 2012 Mini Cooper Convertible or $18,000 cash. Tickets are $550 for single ticket table dining; $5,500 table of 10; $10,000 VIP table of 10; $3,850 for a lounge (not available online; call for availability.) Southampton

BENEFIT: The Southampton Animal Shelter will host their its annual on Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. at the private Southampton waterfront home of Sandra McConnell.  Jean Shafiroff will serve as the event's chairwoman and Jane Hansen from NBC 4's "New York Live" will emcee the event.  This year, NBC 4 news anchor Chuck Scarborough and wife Ellen will be honored for their involvement and support on behalf of animals in need of homes. Westhampton Beach 

AUTHOR TALK: New York Times bestselling author will be at Books & Books on Friday in Westhampton Beach at 7 p.m. to introduce her latest book, "Night Watch."  Admission is free for this event.  For more information call 631-998-3260.

MUSIC: will be at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Sunday at 8:30 p.m.  The band comes to town with their "Back In Full Bloom..." tour, and are known for hit songs such as "One Headlight."  Tickets are $125, $115 and $95. Tickets can be purchased by calling 631-288-1500.

AUTHOR TALK: Author will be at Books & Books in Westhampton Beach on Saturday at 3 p.m. to discuss his latest historical thriller, "Istanbul Passage."  Kanon is the author of five previous novels including "The Good German."  Admission to this event is free. For more information call 631-998-3260.

MUSIC: The will perform two shows at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday at 7:30 and 10 p.m. The Fab Faux is a Beatles cover band that is known for tackling the Beatles' greatest hits.  Tickets are $85, $70 and $55. To purchase tickets call 631-288-1500.

AUTHOR TALK: Author and journalist will be at Books & Books in Westhampton Beach on Sunday at 3 p.m. to discuss his memoir, "Newspaperman."  Phillips was the managing editor at The Wall Street Journal and publisher/CEO of Dow Jones & Co. In his memoir he gives a behind the scenes look at The Wall Street Journal and what it was like to be a reporter while watching history unfold.  Admission is free for this event.  For more information call 631-998-3260.

Quogue

GALA: The Quogue Wildlife Refuge will host its on Saturday at 7 to 10 p.m. at the private residence of Nancy Mullan and John Demirjian in the village of Quogue.  The evening will include live music by The Hackensack Men & The Trenton Horns.  Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served. Wine will be provided by Martha Clara Vineyards and beer will be served by Southampton Publick House. The night will features live and silent auctions, as well as raffles. Attendees will have an opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the Refuge's resident animals. The Quogue Wildlife Refuge provides a home to diverse wildlife. Some of these animals are forever injured and require human care to survive. The Refuge also serves as an educational nature center that is open to the public and is open year round. AUTHOR TALK: Author will be on hand at the Quogue Library on Sunday at 5 p.m. as part of the library's Conversations with the Author series to discuss his book "Enemies: A History of the FBI." Weiner is a Pulitzer prize winner for his writing on important issues concerning American national security. He was a correspondent for The New York Times and reported on war and terrorism from countries such as Afghanistan and Pakistan.
