The United States Tennis Association is offering several free events for youths throughout the five boroughs, including two in Queens, this month as part of National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month.

The USTA’s free tennis play events will be held in conjunction with Nickelodeon’s 10th annual Worldwide Day of Play across the nation. The event is an effort to get children interested in playing tennis.

On Sept. 18, the association will offer a play day for children, ages 10 years and below, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

The second event in the borough will run from noon to 2 p.m. on Sept. 25 at the Queens Satellite High School for Opportunity, located at 162-02 Hillside Ave. in Jackson Heights.

Both events are free and open to the public. For more information, visit the USTA’s Free Tennis Play Events site.
