Subway Series Round 2: Here Comes Harvey

Mets and Yankees butt heads again in shortened four-game series.

Assuming the weather holds — which around here has not been a great assumption lately — the Mets and Yankees will meet Tuesday night for the second tilt of a four-game Subway series.

It will be the last of the four games played in Citi Field this year. The two teams will travel to the Bronx on Wednesday and Thursday.

Daniel Murphy delivered a 2-1 victory for the Mets in the eighth inning Monday night, driving in a run off of Yankees reliever David Robertson.

The win was a lift for the Mets, who've needed one badly in a season in which they've struggled to do anything to get their faithful excited.

So far the only bright spot for Mets fans has been the pitching of starter Matt Harvey, whose positively nasty stuff this season has everyone saying "R.A. Who?"

Harvey (5-0) will take the mound for the Mets Tuesday night, facing the Yankees' Hiroki Kuroda (6-3).

Despite the win Monday, the Mets still have an uphill climb to even up the lifetime series record between the two teams. They've only won the season series  twice, once in 2004 and once in 2008. They were also beaten the only time the two teams played in the World Series in 2000.
