Queens Soccer Stadium Inching Closer to Goal?

Rumors keep flying about the possibility of an MLS team in Queens. What do you think?

Soccer is the world's game, so it only makes sense for the world's most diverse county to have a team, right?

If some Queens leaders have their way, that plan could become a reality sooner rather than later, according to the New York Daily News.

The idea has been kicking around the borough for some time — build a soccer stadium in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park alongside Citi Field and the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center.

Citi Field has hosted , with great success.

The plans have gotten a little more specific now, with a $300 million price tag and the interest of MLS in putting a team in the stadium.

When we asked you earlier this summer if you liked the idea, thought a soccer stadium would be great for the borough.

just as long as we don't have to pay some crazy tax, a soccer team would be welcome.

That would be fantastic. It's Europe's most popular sport and a personal favorite of mine.

I'd rather see a hockey arena built there and bring the Islanders to Queens.
