Zumba Fitness in the Street

5th Annual Zumba Fitness® in the Street is Pittsburgh Areas First and One of the Largest Fundraisers of Its Kind

The second annual Zumba Fitness® in the Street almost didn't happen. Heavy rains and severe flooding almost caused certified Zumba Fitness® instructor Connie Tinsley to cancel the event. Instead, the determined Tinsley postponed the event a few weeks. It was a huge success.

Now in it's 5th year, the annual Zumba Fitness® in the Street event in Turtle Creek, PA continues to raise much needed funds for the Turtle Creek Volunteer Fire Department.  The fundraiser takes place during the annual Fireman's Fair and ensures the continued operation of a valuable service to all residents and businesses in Turtle Creek and neighboring communities.

The event showcases Zumba Fitness®, an aerobic fitness method that combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves that create a dynamic, exciting and effective workout. Connie Tinsley was one of the first Zumba Fitness® instructors to become certified in Pennsylvania when it was offered at Keystone Health Club in East Pittsburgh. It didn't take her long to think of using Zumba® to raise money for the fire department.

It's a wonderful opportunity to call attention to what the fire department does for our community," says Mrs. Tinsley. "I'm honored to be able to use something that I love to help support the brave men and women who volunteer as first responders in this town."

"This event is also a great opportunity to see Zumba® in action. Once people see how much fun it is, they're more likely to participate on a regular basis and get in shape."
