Schools Closed Through the End of the Week

NYC public schools will reopen on Monday, Nov. 5.

The New York City Department of Education announced on Wednesday afternoon that public schools will be closed Nov. 1 and Nov. 2.

though administrative offices have remained open, in response to Hurricane Sandy.

All after-school events and athletics are cancelled, as well.

A statement on the Department of Education's website said schools will re-open on Monday, Nov. 5.

hey people i hate to break in with a comment that has nothing to do with the article at hand BUT,with all the death, destruction ,school closings ,hospital closings ,subway closings, street closings ,highway closings,nerghborhoods burned down,thousands of people made homeless,and no actuall death count from this incident as of yet is there a reason WHY this ahole emperor is planinning to continue with this totally usless NYC MARATHON and why are all the media reporting about all the tragedy and yet not telling any one that this drain on the allready drained resorces is still going on there are people out of state that can't get home to see what the've lost but the emperor says accommodations will be made to get out of state marathoners into the city
