Mayor Bloomberg wants to impose harsher evaluation standards, do you?

Mayor Michael Bloomberg drew a line in the sand for New York City’s teachers, saying the Department of Education would no longer tolerate substandard results from the city’s students.

He pledged to rid the city school system of teachers who were failing the youth of the five boroughs, using a new rating system.

While everyone is in favor of upping graduation rates and helping the city’s youth, we want to know, do you think the mayor is being too draconian? Will his new plan work to raise the grades and educational standards across the five boroughs? Or will it backfire?
