Bedbug Issue Resolved at Forest Hills School, DOE Says

Office sweep turned up no other pests, according to spokeswoman.

at has been fully resolved to the satisfaction of the Department of Education, spokeswoman Marge Feinberg said Monday.

In a statement, Feinberg said that after finding one bedbug in the school’s main office, a sanitation team made a sweep and found no other creepy crawlers in the area.

“The room was inspected last week and no other bedbugs were found,” Feinberg said. “Every time we find a single bedbug, we are required to report it.”

Feinberg said that bedbugs are commonly brought into schools from home by students via backpacks or other belongings.

“Schools are not hospitable environments for bedbugs and are brought in from the outside, usually in a bag or on clothing,” she added.
