Working Families Party Endorses Katz

Group throws its weight behind former state Assemblywoman.

The Working Families Party has endorsed former state Assemblywoman Melinda Katz in the race for Queens borough president.

Katz also recently received the nod from SEIU 32BJ and the Hotel Trades Council.

"The Working Families Party is a catalyst for progressive change in this city and I look forward to partnering with them to help forge a higher standard of living for their members in Queens and beyond," Katz said of the endorsement.

She will face off in the Democratic primary for Queens' top position against City Council members Peter Vallone Jr. and Leroy Comrie as well as state Sen. Tony Avella.
