Weprin Releases Late Campaign Ad For Final Push

Ad features New York Times endorsement of Democrat.

With time running out before the special election on Tuesday, the candidates are pulling out all the stops. Democrat David Weprin released a new campaign ad Wednesday afternoon, with a big buy in Brooklyn and Queens.

The campaign hopes that the add, which prominently features Weprin’s endorsement from the New York Times, will sway voters with who might still be on the fence.

They’re also hoping to tie Republican Bob Turner to the Tea Party, with the only image of Turner in the add depicting him emerging from a boiling teapot.

Weprin campaign spokeswoman Liz Kerr said the campaign was confident

“The more voters learn about David Weprin and Bob Turner, the more they reject Turner’s radical views,” Kerr said.  “We’re bringing our message directly to voters in Brooklyn and Queens, and letting them know about Bob Turner’s plans to cut Medicare and Social Security.”
