Weiner's Ratings Plummet After 'Carlos Danger' Revelation

Christine Quinn retakes the lead, according to new NBC 4 New York poll.

A new poll shows that Anthony Weiner’s lead in the Democratic primary for mayor has eroded after having admitted this week to having online sexual relationships after having stepped down from Congress.

The NBC 4 New York/Wall Street Journal/Marist Poll, which was released Thursday, found that Weiner’s favorability rating dropped from 52 percent to 30 percent following Weiner’s admission to having taken part in online relationships last year during which he used the alias 'Carlos Danger.'

Last month, Weiner had the support of 25 percent of city Democrats, while City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, D-Manhattan, was backed by 20 percent.

“These new revelations have cost Anthony Weiner the lead in the Democratic field,” Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion, told NBC 4 New York. “His negatives are at an all-time high.”
