Weather Service: 'Tornado Not Out Of The Question'

Severe winds, strong rain moving through Forest Hills, Queens, Brooklyn.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Queens and Brooklyn, among other counties in the area early Wednesday afternoon.

In a storm warning that was scheduled to last through 2:30 p.m., the weather service warned residents to stay indoors, saying that heavy rain and winds up to 70 miles per hour were possible.

According to the severe weather warning, "a tornado is not out of the question."

In addition to the thunderstorm warning, the service also issued flood advisories for trouble spots in the community.
