Stavisky, Meng Collect Signatures For MTA Transparency

Legislators want to see more communication from transit giant as fares rise and services are cut.

State Sen. Toby-Ann Stavisky and Assemblywoman Grace Meng took a stand against the MTA on Friday, collecting signatures of straphangers demanding more transparency from the transit giant.

“One of the things that makes New York City great is its comprehensive public transportation network.  But over time we have seen that it is inadequate … for the number of riders it serves, and the MTA’s service cuts and fare hikes are only making things worse,” Stavisky said. “In my district I have seen a half-dozen bus lines disappear in recent years.”
