Sen. Charles Schumer visited the Pomonok Senior Center in Flushing on Tuesday morning to endorse Democrat David Weprin to Queens seniors.
While Schumer officially endorsed Weprin weeks ago, this was his first visit to the borough with the Democrat since the campaign began over the summer.
With a week to go before the special election, both sides are pulling out all the stops to impress local voters and crystallizing their campaigns down to a few essential nuggets of wisdom.
Schumer and Weprin both knocked Republican Bob Turner, saying he planned to alter Medicare and Social Security, a claim the campaign has made since the beginning.
