As part of a tour of storm damage from Hurricane Sandy, President Barack Obama flew over parts of Queens in a helicopter Thursday afternoon before touching down on Staten Island, the New York Times reported.
Having already toured parts of New Jersey with Gov. Christ Christie, Obama spent time in New York on Thursday to see parts of the region that had been most impacted by the storm surge and high winds brought by Hurricane Sandy.
His tour included close-up looks at the Rockaways and southern Queens before he landed in Staten Island to visit a shelter for hurricane victims, the paper said.
