Jack Lew, President Barack Obama's former chief of staff and current Treasury Secretary nominee, faced confirmation hearings this morning before the Senate Finance Committee.
Lew, a Forest Hills native, fielded questions about his time at CitiGroup and as director of the Office of Management and Budget. Republican senators also brought up a Cayman Islands bank account that Lew maintained and properly disclosed before serving in government, according to the New York Times.
The photo above, taken by White House photographer Pete Souza, is of Lew in conversation with Obama at a G20 summit in Mexico last year.
In 2010, Lew spoke before graduates at Forest Hills High School, his alma mater.
