MacDonald Park To Be WiFi Enabled

One of three Queens Parks with internet access

The New York City Parks Department announced earlier this month that three Queens Parks — including MacDonald Park in Forest Hills — will be outfitted with wireless internet access this summer.

The WiFi access, provided by AT&T, is free for any park patrons to use in conjunction with smartphones, laptops, e-readers and other internet-enabled devices.

“In May, we laid out a strategy to make New York City the nation’s leading digital city, and AT&T’s generous initiative to bring Wi-Fi to 20 City parks will help us get there,” Bloomberg said when the plan was annoucned. “New York City has the greatest network of public parks in the world, and we’ve invested heavily to expand and enhance them.”
