Gardens Residents Steaming Over Train Noise: Report

Door chimes, track noise disrupting idyllic neighborhood, Daily News says.

Residents in Forest Hills Gardens are getting fed up with the noise from LIRR trains, according to a report in the New York Daily News.

Buildings on Burns Street in particular, across from the , can hear door chimes from trains throughout the day, the report said.

People in the building have said the train noise effects their lives by disrupting business, and forcing them to keep windows closed even in warm weather.

The transit giant has responded by saying that volume of chimes have been lowered already once this year, and could be lowered again this month.
