Free Tennis Program Open To Local Youth Through Aug. 19.

Lessons take place at Forest Hills High School.

Aspiring athletes and tennis pros from Forest Hills will have the chance to make their dreams come true — for free — this summer, as the New York Junior Tennis academy will offer free lessons through next week.

The program, sponsored by Council member Karen Koslowitz, opened Aug. 1, and will continue through Aug. 19.

“During my tenure at the Council, I have been fortunate to support outstanding programs for our youth such as the New York Junior Tennis League,” Koslowitz said.
“Children need recreational activities and sports, such as tennis, in their lives. Their self-esteem and self-confidence, as well their self-discipline and ability to work and play with others, are greatly enhanced through their participation in such activities.”
