Forest Hills' General Election Voters Guide

Find out who's running for City Council, mayor, Queens borough president and comptroller.

Here's a primer to get you all the information you need to know in Forest Hills for the Nov. 5 general election.

The only local race is for Councilman James Gennaro's seat, which covers a sliver of Forest Hills and Kew Gardens. Candidates in the race include Democrat and former state Assemblyman Rory Lancman, Republican Alexander Blishteyn and Faith and Values candidate Mujib Rahman.

In the Queens borough president race, Democrat Melinda Katz, a former state assemblywoman and councilwoman, will face off against Republican Aurelio Arcabascio and Jobs and Education candidate Everly Brown.

Democrat Bill de Blasio, the city's public advocate, will go up against Republican Joe Lhota, the former chairman of the Metropolitan Transit Authority, in the mayoral race.

And city comptroller candidates include former Democrat Scott Stringer, who is the Manattan borough president, as well as Republican John Burnett, Green Party candidate Julia Willebrand, Libertarian Hesham El-Meligy, Socialist Worker John Studer and War Veterans candidate Richard Bozulich.
