"Throughout her career, Elizabeth Crowley has fought to protect the public safety of New Yorkers,” said Captains Endowment Association President Roy Richter. “She has been a great supporter of the NYPD and is the best candidate to ensure that police officers in New York and around the country receive the support and resources we need from Washington to keep our City safe.”

District Council 9, a union of painters and allied tradesmen also endorsed Crowley this week.

Assemblyman Rory Lancman

Lancman grabbed a big endorsement last Tuesday with the announcement that he had secured the Working Families Party line, a particularly active group in New York State.

"Corporate lobbyists have too much power in Washington. That's why we're backing  candidates who have proven themselves as champions of working people," said Mike Fishman, of the Working Families Party. "We're proud to support Rory Lancman for Congress because he has shown the tenacity to fight for ordinary New Yorkers and win."

Assemblywoman Grace Meng

Meng picked up a phalanx of Latino legislative leaders earlier this month, including Councilwoman Julissa Ferraras and State Sen. Jose Peralta.

“With Republicans determined to undermine health care reform, Social Security and Medicare, we need a champion for the middle class in Washington fighting for working families and our seniors,” Peralta said. “We need someone who supports smart immigration reform, including the Dream Act. We need someone like Grace Meng.”

Meng also picked up the endorsement of Forest Hills Councilwoman and Democratic Committeewoman Karen Koslowitz at Tuesday night's Forest Hills Civic meeting, though Koslowitz admitted she has supported Meng since the beginning of her candidacy.
