Elevators At Last for Forest Hills Subway Stop

71st-Continental Ave. stop to get three elevators next year.

The in Forest Hills is undergoing a transformation that will make a big difference to a lot of straphangers.

Three elevators will be installed in a project scheduled to last for the next 18 months. The Continental Avenue station is the fifth-most trafficked in Queens and in the top 40 most used in the entire subway system. The station averages 27,000 commuters per weekday.

Currently, handicapped commuters have to go to Union Turnpike or Roosevelt Avenue to access the platform without the use of machinery.
