As if Forest Hills residents didn't have enough to worry about when it comes to flooding.
A leaking water main began spilling water into the street at 66th Road and 108th Street Tuesday afternoon at just after 2 p.m.
Department of Environmental Protection trucks arrived on the scene at around 4:15 p.m., after fire crews had already investigated the issue.
According to a representative of the DEP, crews started excavating in the area shortly after 4:30 p.m. to determine if the leak was in a private line from a local home or a city line.
One resident in the area said she was having problems with her toilets continuously flushing.
The DEP representative said the city agency had not cut off water in the area, and that they would make a determination on how to proceed once the leak had been identified as an issue with a city or private water line.
