Councilwoman Promises Strong Resistance To Senior Cuts

Koslowitz said she will stop at nothing to preserve local senior centers.

Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz, D-Forest Hills, spent the day in Albany on Tuesday, trying her best to convince the state not to eliminate Title XX funding that keeps hundreds of the city's senior centers open.

Last week, the city revealed the names of the senior centers that will be closing in the five boroughs,

Koslowitz warned constituents at the Forest Hills Community and Civic Association meeting Tuesday evening that the news was grim.
