After Sex Attacks, CM Hosts Self-defense Course

Koslowitz urges women to attend free event Aug. 8.

After a string of s, City Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz is offering free self-defense classes for the women of Forest Hills and Rego Park.

Last month, police were seeking two suspects in a handful of sexual assault attacks in the area. Koslowitz , D-Forest Hills, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and others vowed to help the police track down the suspects,

Now, Koslowitz is helping women take matters into their own hands — with an eye out for safety.

On Aug. 8, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the councilwoman will host a free self-defense seminar in conjunction with The Center for Anti-Violence Education.

The seminar, held at the  at 106-06 Queens Blvd., will be open to women 13 years of age and older.
