Haig-Kourdian, the 80-year-old local man who was reported missing on Monday, was located safe and sound Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Kourdian, 80, went missing on Sunday shortly after noon. Kourdian suffers from Alzheimer's disease and could not be located after an extensive search on the part of his family. Police sent out an alert on Monday afternoon once the Rego Park man had been missing for 24 hours.
Kristina Rincon, Kourdian's granddaughter, said the incident marked the first time that the family patriarch had gone missing. She said the family was searching day and night and was worried sick over the matter.
