Thieves Smash Forest Hills Store's Windows, Attempt to Steal Jewelry

Police are searching for two thieves who used a hammer to bash open a Forest Hills store’s window in an attempt to steal merchandise, the manager of Lorilil Jewelers said.

The store’s manager said two men with a large hammer smashed the store’s window in an attempt to snatch watches from its Rolex case around 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 24.

“It was very brazen – right in the middle of the day,” the manager said.

The window was in the process of being replaced on Monday and no suspects had yet been arrested.
