Suspects Sought in Forest Hills Robbery Spree

Teens have struck seven times since Dec. 20 in the 112 Precinct, including Christmas day.

Police are seeking two teens in connection with a spree of local muggings.

There have been seven incidents since Dec. 20, all with a similar pattern.

The two suspects approach their victim on the street or the sidewalk from behind then forcibly steal their cell phone. The majority of the victims have been women, though men have been struck more than once during the spree.

Almost all of the incidents have taken place along Queens Boulevard, with some near the intersection of Yellowstone Boulevard.

In the most recent robbery, a 54-year-old woman was mugged on Jan. 2 at 6:55 p.m.

Police have released a video of the two suspects, who are thought to be around 16 or 17.

Cell phone robberies, in particular those of iPhones, have been a category of huge increase in the last 18 months, according to police.

Late last year, police were seeking a man who was stealing iPhones and iPads from subway commuters.
