Suspect Wanted in Rego Park Business Break-ins

Burglar crawling across roofs in local precinct.

Police in the 112 Precinct, which covers Rego Park and Forest Hills, are seeking a suspect in connection with at least four attempted break-ins on 63rd Drive and Austin Street.

According to police, the suspect attempted to break into the Shalomar Diner, two medical offices and a realty office over the course of three nights at the end of March.

In each incident, the suspect either attempted to or successfully broke into the businesses through the roof, causing damage and trying to make off with cash or valuables.

The suspected is described as a man in his early 20's, 5'8". He was caught on surveillance footage wearing a baseball cap and a white jacket.

If anyone has any information, they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips at the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577.
