Rego Park Woman Found Drowned in Pool After Party on LI

A Rego Park woman drowned in a backyard swimming pool on Long Island, authorities said Sunday.

Suffolk County police said residents of a home at 2 Polo Street in Dix Hills were cleaning up the backyard following a party that occurred on Saturday, when, at approximately 2:40 p.m. today, they noticed a body in the deep end of the backyard pool. 

Second Precinct police officers responded following a 911 call from a resident, and pulled Rajkumari Motwani’s body from the water at the home at the corner of Commack Road, police said.

Motwani, 55, who was a guest at the party, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. 

Following a preliminary investigation, police said there does not appear to be any criminality in relation to Motwani’s death.
