Police Seeking Forced Armed Robbery Suspects

Multiple suspects temporarily abduct women and steal ATM codes at gunpoint.

in the area are asking for the public’s assistance in locating three individuals believed to be responsible for three armed robberies in the neighboring 107th Precinct. The robberies all involved temporary abductions of older women.

The robberies, all of which took place within the confines of the 107th Precinct, have been perpetrated by two or three men and one woman.

The first incident took place in April 2010. Three men approached a 63-year-old woman near Grand Central Parkway and Avon Road as the victim was approaching her car. They forcibly dragged her into the trunk, removed her purse and ATM card and held her in the trunk while a female accomplice used her ATM pin code to withdraw cash from her account.

The victim was released without any injuries.

The second incident, which took place Dec. 22 at 7:30 p.m., was at the intersection of Kendrick Place and Mayfield Road. Two men approached a 58-year-old woman as she was leaving her car. The men forced the woman back into her car, stole her purse and ATM card, and forced her to stay while another female accomplice made an illegal withdrawal at an ATM. The victim was not injured.

The most recent incident occurred on Jan. 14 at 11:20 a.m. near the intersection of Marengo Street and McLaughlin Avenue. The beginning of the incident was similar, with two men approaching a 68-year-old woman. The victim screamed, and the two men fled in a dark-colored sedan.

During each incident, the men in question either threatened or brandished a handgun.

Police released a sketch of one of the men in question, and a video of the woman involved in the ATM extortion.
