Police Seek Suspect In Ridgewood Shooting

Nineteen-year-old suspect sought for attempted murder.

Police in the neighboring 104 Precinct are seeking a suspect in a shooting and attempted murder that occurred on Sept. 9.

At 11:15 p.m., at the corner of Bleecker Street and Cyprus Avenue in Ridgewood, five suspects approached a local man on foot. The suspect, 19-year-old Tommy Gomez, brandished a firearm and shot the victim in the stomach before fleeing into a nearby building.

The victim, a 17-year-old, was transported to Elmhurst Hospital by EMT’s in stable condition.

Gomez’s four accomplices were all apprehended, but Gomez, who fired the shot, remains at large, according to police.
