Police Looking For Man Who Threw Molotov Cocktail At Convenience Store

A Hispanic man allegedly got into an argument with a store clerk in Brooklyn and returned with an explosive.

A man wielding a Molotov cocktail caused a Brooklyn convenience store to go up in flames as well as injure an employee, police said.

The incident occurred at 1:55 a.m. Wednesday at 3901 Fort  Hamilton Pkwy. The clerk, 34, sustained minor injuries when his hair and clothes caught on fire.

The assailant allegedly came in an hour prior and got into an argument with the employee and returned with the explosive.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 30 and 40, and between 5'8" and 5'10" in height. He was wearing sunglasses and a dark hooded sweatshirt.

“He didn’t think twice about what he was doing. He didn’t even consider anything, like people live upstairs. There’s a lot of kids upstairs,” Diana Soto, a witness, told CBS New York.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the CrimeStoppers tip line at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or by texting or texting 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577. Witnesses may also submit a tip online at the CrimeStoppers website.
