Police Identify Woman Killed On Yellowstone Boulevard

Cecilia Alvarez, 58, hit by a car crossing the street Tuesday night.

Police on Friday released the identity of the

Cecilia Alvarez, 58, who lived on 110th Street in Forest Hills, was struck by a Toyota Camry driven by a 63-year-old man at shortly before 6 p.m.

The sun had gone down, and residents in the area who witnessed the accident said it seemed clear that the driver of the Camry didn't see Alvarez crossing the street.

"I don't think he realized that he had somebody under his car," eyewitness Andrea Guzman said the night of the incident. "We had to run to his car and yell 'Hello! Stop! There's somebody under your car."

Alvarez was trapped underneath the car until an emergency crew was caught in to lift the car. She was taken to , where she was pronounced dead.

There is no criminality suspected in the incident, police said.
