Police Find Resident Dead In His Apartment After 911 Call

Medical Examiner has yet to determine cause of death in the incident.

in Forest Hills found a local resident dead in his apartment Wednesday night, precinct sources said.

According to information from the police department, officers responded to a 911 call at an apartment building on 76th Road in Forest Hills Wednesday night at 6:13 p.m. When they arrived, they found 25-year-old Shaliek Spurgeon unresponsive in his apartment.

Officers were not able to wake Spurgeon, who was lying on his bed when police arrived.

EMT’s were called to the scene, and pronounced Spurgeon dead minutes later.

An investigation into the matter is ongoing, though the Medical Examiner has not yet been able to determine a cause of death.
