William Bratton was sworn in as the city Police Department's commissioner on Jan. 2 by Mayor Bill de Blasio at One Police Plaza in Manhattan.

Bratton, who previously served as the NYPD's leader under Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, was joined by his wife, Rikki Klieman, at the ceremony. He most recently worked as commissioner for the Los Angeles Police Department.

Bratton replaces Ray Kelly as the city's top cop.
